This is the website for a project called ‘Producing and Evaluating Style’ which is being carried out by Billy Clark with supported from the Leverhulme Trust (Major Research Fellowship MRF-2024-043).
Billy is using this project page to share information on the project and resources for participants in research activities and for wider audiences. The information is arranged chronologically from older to newer.
MLA (Modern Language Association), Toronto, January 2026
One place where Billy shared ideas from the project was in a special session at the MLA Convention in Toronto in January 2026. Billy presented ideas from the project and there were presentations from Anne Furlong (University of Prince Edward Island) and Tony Williams (Northumbria University) exploring related ideas. Professor Furlong discussed the relevance of ideas from the project to literary studies and Professor Williams discussed their relevance to creative writing teaching and practice. IPC20 (Twentieth International Pragmatics Conference, Helsinki, June-July 2027
Billy and Siobhan Chapman (University of Liverpool) have organised a panel on Producing and Evaluating Communication which will be part of the 20th International Pragmatics Conference (IPC20), organised by the International Pragmatics Association (IPrA).
